Cool story. What about the movie itself? It looks terrible. Not sure I could download a rip, let alone buy the ticket.

This whole "diversify everything" is such bullshit. Nobody cries about Bollywood being all indian because nobody (here) gives a damn about it. And Hollywood is far from being all-white.
We fell in the other extreme. Too afraid of being called a racist so let's compensate by enforcing diversity.
This will backfire so hard at one point lol.

It's the natural evolution of outrage culture. IIRC it was the kind of thing people like Lenny Bruce was worried about. 40 years ago.RIFA wrote:This whole "diversify everything" is such bullshit. More than ever people are making a choice to be upset, and they are getting upset over the most naff, inconsequential stuff. As a result the actual problems, real problems with the world get thrown into a sort of outrage melting pot. So nothing gets fixed.

for a movie like this it's inexcusable.RIFA wrote:This whole "diversify everything" is such bullshit. Nobody cries about Bollywood being all indian because nobody (here) gives a damn about it. And Hollywood is far from being all-white.

Also, you can't compare the US to India can you?
In terms of worldwide popularity no. Hence why it's okay to shame Hollywood.thrice wrote:for a movie like this it's inexcusable.

Also, for a movie like this it's absolutely excusable.
It's less excusable for Ridley's "Exodus"... if you wanna go there.
If you think the Bible is fiction is excusable even here.RIFA wrote:In terms of worldwide popularity no. Hence why it's okay to shame Hollywood.thrice wrote:for a movie like this it's inexcusable.

But, speaking of this, why nobody makes a fuss when Jesus is portraited as white? If we go by accuracy he would have been more like a middle eastern than a white man.
I always wondered how christian africans or asians think Jesus looks like.
