There was also the kinda sort of super fucked up thing of making the Sphinx which is very clearly NOT A WHITE GUY into a white guy.

The ancient Egyptians living in the northern part of Egypt were fair-skinned. They would have looked like typical North African/Middle Eastern people.

Here's a bust of Pharaoh Khafra who is considered to probably be the builder of the Sphinx -Image
Note the prominent Roman nose and the angular face. So yeah, they weren't Negroid. The present appearance of the Sphinx is because the nose has been lost, and due to general erosion of the face over the centuries.
