West Wing

Well now we know why Marvel picked Clark Gregg for Coulson. His character here is literally the exact same person with slightly darker hair.

Also, damn, there's a whole lot of 'before they were big' people in this series.

I binged The Pacific over the past two days and while it may not be up there with Band Of Brothers, I appreciated its approach more regarding the effect of the war on the soldier's psychology and its very harsh portrayal of war and the conditions in the south Pacific islands makes Band Of Brothers look pro-war in comparison.

12 Monkeys - Might as well be at the front row to see someone butcher one of your favorite movies.

Show Me a Hero

Admittedly, it started off with a slow burn. I anticipated it would be a struggle to sit through this, but I really got into it by the third episode. It culminates in some huge emotional moments in episode 6. Isaac was great, showcasing the same subtlety and control on display in A Most Violent Year. He absolutely shines in the final moments of the show. Catherine Keener and Alfred Molina were also really good.

Some of the minor characters/subplots were a bit on the nose, making the show as a whole seem as if it's wearing everything on the sleeve. However, it contributes to a neat almost documentarian style. I also think the writing paints an appropriately complex picture of both "sides" of the issues in question.

so I saw a gif of D-list Rebecca Blumhagen topless somewhere on Imgur or something, turns out it's from the "after dark" series The Girl's Guide to Depravity

looked it up on YouTube just out of curiosity and I've ended up watching the whole thing

oops

American Crime Story: The People V. O. J. Simpson - I doubt if I'll see a handful of more entertaining or even better shows this year. Apart from its cast, the shows greatest strength is just how it manages to capture the craziness of the media circus without undermining the more grave issues it's also examining - something even certain movies are incapable of.

Black Sails s03e04.

This show is a piece of trash, mostly because of awful and at times cringeworthy acting (Luke Arnold / John SIlver being a notable exception). It doesn't lack potential though; some of the characters are interesting (it's pirates) and the set pieces are amazing. At times the cinematography of Lukas Ettlin and Jules O'Loughlin is really nice as well. I'm only watching this because of my fetish for Caribbean piracy.
