Yeah. They managed to not overdo that element. No unnecessary sentimentality, or sexualizing. They trusted that the hint of it would convey that that's what is being talked about.

anybody think that Ren has a high chance of being turned for good now. He became weaker as the story went on. He wasn't able to seduce a young girl to the dark side. He didn't seem to get the kind of closure he pined for after killing Han. By the end he is basically exposed to the fact that the light side is much stronger as evidenced by Rey being able to completely over power him. His private moments with Vader's skull and the dynamic between him and the other general before Snoke hinted at possible future split of ideals and differing interpretations of the dark side. Wouldn't be surprised if it's Ret who turns him and they actually couple up

You say this as though the original cast didn't feature young adults.

Not really. They all felt older. Luke  was the only one who was arguably playing a younger guy but as an actor he was already beyond the age that he was playing . Here they actually all looked like teenagers. Even the tribal leaders that almost caught them in the beginning were young. Where as Han, Leia, calrissian wete all basically portrayed as being their early thirties

Leia was like 19 lol and yes that was about Fisher's age at the time. You also seem to keep forgetting Luke and Leia are twins aka same age.

could be a perceptual thing, like, you were probably pretty young yourself when you saw Star Wars for the first time, so Hamill and Fisher probably seemed a lot older

now the young actors in the new Star Wars film are around your age, actually younger than you, so it seems different

at least, that's kinda how I feel

admittedly, this film certainly has more Disneyness on it than Lucas' films, so that could be part of it

Talli just recently watched the OT, lol. Then again obviously he's seen images from it when younger.

Talli, did you ever watch the prequel trilogy? I am sure there is plenty of stuff in those films you'd find quite interesting.

I find it interesting that everyone freaks out and geeks out over Harrison Ford, yet if I had a choice of who to hang out with for a weekend or talk to, it'd be Mark Hamill. The guy's just so down to Earth and seems like he really genuinely appreciates and loves everything he gets the opportunity to do.
