I know it very early. But what the hell. Anyone want to throw some early early predictions out.

No.

So what are the expected "Oscar films" right now?

Interstellar
Gone Girl
Foxcatcher
Inherent Vice
Boyhood
A Most Violent Year
Unbroken
The Imitation Game

What else?

I'm not so confident about that given Scott's recent filmography.
He hasn't had an "Oscar film" since 2000 and 2001 with Gladiator and Black Hawk Down.

yeah, but it has a december release date, finally a decent screenwriter (Zaillian), an all-star cast,
I agree we don't have anything to judge yet, but Ridley is one of my faves, and even if his recent movies (post-American Gangster) were bad, I really want him to win a directing Oscar before he retires, he really deserves it

I agree it has potential, but I'm gonna stay cautiously optimistic.
