Spectre is awesome. Way better than QOS and underrated entry, starting from Sam Smith intro onward. In my (not so humble) opinion.

I'm a huge Bond fan and have been for a long time, its my equivalent of CB movies for a lot of you.

SPECTRE is a atrocious and Sam Smith should never have been let anywhere near a Bond film.

Anyone that thinks that can not be taken seriously, to think the genius of John Barry and all the classic themes that came from his collaborations and other artists outside of that and we get some whiny song that subject doesn't even resonate enough to even be considered worth talking about.

Eilish most definitely go the remit much better.

SPECTRE has a great pre-title sequence and then it is all downhill from there.

Every other action sequences totally lack tension and Waltz despite his pedigree is the worst villain of the era, he doesn't even appear to be trying.

Also making Blofeld a childhood nemesis is was just the worst idea that the Bond series ever committed.

I'm not sure you really understand Bond if you think SPECTRE is great, I honestly think that.

It's good that you truly think that.

However, I am not that radical in my quick judgement of strangers about their love of Bond franchise, it's an opinion.

Oh, and I love James Bond franchise. In my opinion, there are no 'true' fans, just simply - fans.

So I rewatched Casino Royale the other day

Still absolutely incredible. It's such a feat. The narrative is wild as it is coherent and tight. It's a terrific introduction into a modern Bond. Craig's performance is top notch and Green is imo still the best Bond girl. Her performance is great, the chemistry between her and Craig is genuine and the love story feels so real and touching.
It's not only a good adaptation of the novel, it elevates it. Mikkelsen is one of the best Bond villains. Wright, Giannini, Dench and Murino are all great and it's fun seeing Menzies in this lol.
The editing is perfect, the cinematography and color grading look stunning, the score is great, Cornell's song is still energetic and fitting and just ahh I love this film so much.

Yeah, only five of them! I get that you need plot devices, I just wish they used more various ones. Still a great Bond, and a great action film though.

On Spectre - I still have a real soft spot for it because of the absolute genuine excitement I had beyond the obvious cultural significance of Bond. Almost I guess in a childish sort of way, I didn't really know at the time of CR and QoS that the Bond franchise's.lack of serialisation is part of the charm, I always wanted a payoff to that, a sequel that reintroduces Q, Moneypenny etc and Bond finally goes after Quantum properly...and now we get not only that but Spectre, Waltz and, together with No Time To Die - TWO of these films! Quite ironic given Spectre was initially planned by Logan as a two parter...

The thing about Eilish's song is that it manages to absolutely knock out of the park what Smith attempted with Writing's on the Wall - I really really really hope that's gonna be the case for the film itself too. They do seem to want to improve and stick the landing with the ideas that Mendes and co introduced in the last one but didn't quite execute well (case in point Bond and Madeleine - that pre titles is surely gonna sell people on their relationship in 20 minutes what a 2 and a half hour film didn't 100%...)
