At this point... why not just push it back to late October? There's literally nothing except Tenet in cinemas and we're looking at 350 mil. at best for Nolan. Solid number considering everything. Staggering international vs. US lead.

Global delay too, just when the industry was hoping they'd pull a Tenet.

2020 is over for films.

The Trumps contracting COVID and the mass outbreak inside and around the White House was the final nail on a release this year. Should be the same for other movies.

Fuck everything.

Surprise surprise when they delay it even on Easter because Covid is here to stay until at least summer 21.

Fuck this day and especially year.

if there's one silver lining one may offer...

Robert Zemeckis' THE WITCHES was originally moved from this month to 2021....until it returned for a HBO Max U.S. + international theatrical release back close to its original October date.

Things can still move forward (if they're willing to give up global traditional theatrical day and date release). At the very least, Bond is in the can. Actually done. So is WW84. Soul potentially too, given it was gonna debut at Cannes in May (but it's yet to move from November).

Stuff like Dune still in post can only move back really....

AMC can survive for six months now without new bailouts and I think that's ambitious, pushing movies into 2021 is like believing in universal vaccine before summer 2021 and imo that is unrealistic, studios can forget a massive profit these days and should combine both theatrical release (where possible) and VOD.

I wouldn't even be this angry if they weren't literally spending last load of marketing just day before the news. This will backfire if they think April will improve the situation.

November 2021 should though... Heh.
