Barbara Broccoli was there too and they touched on his audition (even showed a clip). He said he was given the script and and none of the big action sequences were in it (crane & airport scenes). He did mention how nervous he was to say "Bond, James Bond" because it's been done so many times before. You could tell when he was talking that Casino Royale was his best time as Bond. He's also an incredibly shy person apparently, he seemed pretty nervous and was chugging the water they gave him. Guy is a solid dude though, he talked about the Knives Out sequel (not much obviously) but did confirm he's back as Blanc and that Rian Johnson is penning out the script now. Oh and we sang Happy Birthday to him (his bday was yesterday), equipped with a cake and all.

Sorry for the rant.

Thanks for sharing! That's not too shocking about him being a bit shy. In all sorts of press he's essentially said he's just a bookish guy and stays inside reading most of the time.

It's probably part of why he's gotten relatively few roles considering his talent and fame.

I'm really hoping post-Bond he becomes the character actor we all know he should be.
