I'm hoping that Danny Boyle directing the next Bond movie means that we'll be getting more Bond movies that are just as much about the director as the actor playing Bond. I think every time a new Bond is cast, we should see that actor with at least one director's style. I think James Bond can be interpreted by directors in many different ways, and I think the way to keep the movies interesting is by having the franchise constantly reinvent itself.

I'm sure Fincher and Tarantino would breathe new life into the franchise as well and turn some heads, but they're American so I didn't include them in the list.
