Having just seen the new film, Garfield by streets. He's weird and eccentric and really demonstrates an exuberant nature through the mask. The film itself is a higgeldy-piggeldy semi-mess, but Garfield's performance is the one constant, and one of the best portrayals of a superhero I've seen. Maguire plays it relatively straight, which is all fine and dandy, but Peter Parker needs another facet, one that Garfield delivers in spades.

I would say Garfield. Tobey does a great performance in his own way but he's unable to capture the essence of the character.

From what I've seen, Tobey seems a little too emotional, like unnecessarily emotional. It made the character really melodramatic and forced. That's really not his fault, I guess it's just the way the Raimi Peter Parker was written.

So far I think Garf will engage me more, but I won't vote in the poll until I see the film.
