Nolan is making a film about WW2, Villeneuve is making a sci-fi sequel. It's 2017 again. Good times.

I think WB/Legendary will play it safe. Denis has expressed interested in adapting Dune Messiah(2nd book) as the 3rd film, but WB/Legendary want to see if part 2 will be successful at the box office.

As you said 2023 will be another 2017. Nolan is doing another WW2 movie and Denis another science fiction. What a year 2023 will be!

Hopefully 2023 will deliver what 2020 promised!

2017 again. Nolan's Oppenheimer in July and Villeneuve's Dune Part Two in October!

So, in 2023, we will have Nolan, Villeneuve and Chazelle. Like in 2017 too.(At least all three the same year in France).
It's incredible.

If you are referring to Babylon, I think it is slated for a December 2022 release(it's been already shot and it is post now). But still with Nolan and Villeneuve it will be a hell of a year for cinema.

Nolan62 is right. Current info is that 'Babylon' will get a limited release in Dec 2022. Full release is in Jan 2023. So it counts.

Almost a mirror of 2017! Holy shit! I remember seeing La La Land in January then.

Apparently, writing has begun two months ago already. Although I read somewhere else that the script was already done... So who knows lol. I think October 2023 is real quick for a film this scale... Wonder how they're going to pull that off if they start filming in summer 2022 (even though Villeneuve was targeting Fall 2022 for shooting...)

They must have mapped out everything in advance with outlines and drafts. He wanted to film both at once after all.

Man, they should’ve scheduled it so they could shoot in Jordan and Abu Dhabi in Winter (if they need to).

Well yeah, they knew what they wanted in Part I and what in Part II before they even shot Part I. Some designs must probably only be altered a bit if they want, like the stillsuits. I don't expect a radical different design for that, or the Sardaukar uniforms, or the Harkonnen uniforms etc. it makes sense to keep those the same. There's obviously still a huge amount of work to be done in pre-production but still, some things are pretty much finished, design-wise.

I hope they shoot a lot on location again. Wonder what location they'll use for Kaitain.

Can't wait to find out who Denis will cast as Shaddam, Irulan and Feyd. Guessing he either goes for big names or up and coming talent.
