I got to play Evolve at Insomnia51 this last weekend and its ridiculously fun to say the least.

The team put so much effort into the booth and how to brief the players it was really amazing, got an Evolve tee out of it too

Pretty sure I read once that it was originally filmed in non-widescreen and to keep the feel of the show towards the end they kept on doing it. So I doubt it.
