Re: Joker (2019)
Can I take this opportunity to say that while it's nice (in theory) that a batman villain gets his/her own movie, I kinda get tired seeing the Joker everywhere because we know his shtick at this point: nihilism makes for much funny says man in clown makeup. Batman has like the best villains in supe...

Re: Joker (2019)
I thought that those would all be objective or "objective" things that are taught in film school.

Re: Joker (2019)
I would hope that a professional film critic is capable of delivering an objective review of a film. Maybe not entirely objective, but still plenty objective. Unless the argument is that there is no such thing as true objectivity, because of the cosmos and human limitations etc. etc. If so, is that ...

Re: The Batman (2021)
Gordon has almost always been portrayed as an older man, like thirty years older than Bruce. Year One and stories based off of it are the few exceptions.
However I agree that filmmakers should be allowed to reinvent things as they see fit. Ali as Gordon sounds badass.

I have to agree with Batfan on this one. If I recall those New X-Men designs were the direct result of the Singer film. The X-Men desi...

Re: Disney+'s Moon Knight
Can't find my Moon Knight comics but I recall it being very Batman-esque. It was created by notable Batman writer Doug Moench and the character has similarities to Wayne including his wealth and street-level presence. One thing I remember was how scared I was to pick up a Moon Knight comic as a chil...

Re: Disney+'s Ms Marvel
Monica Rambeau was the second Captain Marvel (after Mar-Vell) and Avenger during the 80s. She no longer goes by Captain Marvel in the books. She's not connected to Carol as far as I know, but of course the MCU created a connection in the film.

Re: Marvel Cinematic Universe Discussion Thread
Spidey's always been a solo character anyhow, so while disappointing, it's not a huge deal.
Also no one has gotten Spider-Man right in live-action thus far, and whether it's Sony or Marvel, I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Re: The Batman (2021)
Elderly Alfred is really just an invention of the movies. In the books he was closer to 50s than 70s.
I was hoping that they would exclude Alfred from this film altogether, but alas...
