Re: Oppenheimer - Opening Look
If you've seen all the other trailers, then this is safe to watch. It's nowhere near the level of TENET's idiotic final trailer that spoiled everything. Here are my seven takes on this: 1. The opening shot of the road with the motorcycle looks like it will be the actual opening of the film, and that...

Re: Oppenheimer - Early Reactions
This thread is so blue balls right now. I know lol On the one hand, it's like...the film's just over two weeks away, and we got nine pages of no actual reactions...made all the more agonizing by the fact that we know that the finished film is just sitting there in physical film canisters across the...

Re: Oppenheimer - Early Reactions
I was in the "World of Reel is unreliable" crowd until the embargo date was revealed and it lined up exactly with what he said it would be.
AFAIK, he was the first to reveal that long before anyone else, and he got it right.

Re: Box Office
physicshistoryguy, your thoughts on the film not even having a release date set for Japan because they're worried about how it would be received by the Japanese public? (More info in the Variety article posted by natalie.) For me, it's a non-controversy drummed up as one by performative virtue-signa...

Re: TV Spots
What do we think that Mr. Teller is doing there at 0:11? It's such a funny shot, too lol. Here we are, all expecting this depressing, doom-and-gloom drama about the potential end of the world, and instead we get this guy in a red tie making goofy hand gestures with Mr. Oppenheimer looking at him lik...

Re: Oppenheimer - General Information
I get that but still you can't help but feel that he's choosing his words very carefully to the point that it's kinda hard to tell how he genuinely feels about it

Re: Box Office
Yep. Usually with big-budget blockbusters, you can label it a hit or a bomb based on opening weekend, but being that this is a squarely adult drama, the legs into August will prove definitive, so it's going to be a longer-than-usual wait for a clear answer.

Re: Oppenheimer - General Information
Too late, I just finished reading it! Yeah, most of it was just actors talking about how they prepared for their role and how they connected with the history and so on, but that stuff is interesting to me. Plus the casting for Boris Pash, David Hill (someone I hadn't heard of before, despite being ...

Re: Oppenheimer - Early Reactions
Hard to say, the production notes mention a montage sequence. It does not specify where in the film that may be. It could easily be a montage that glosses through aspects of the building of the bomb. It's not just the mention of a montage, but the reveal that the musicians went through all that eff...
