Re: The Batman (2021)

Batman Forever succeeds as a memorable summer blockbuster in spite of the questionable acting. It clicks in all the ways Batman & Robin doesn't. The score is great and the action is well done. One thing about the Schumacher films is that they get closer to the heart of what Batman is all about, an ...

Re: The Batman (2021)

I always hated a "young Robin". It seems so irresponsible for Batman to take a kid out to help him fight monsters and other dangerous killers. Plus, it's a little creepy. I like Robin to be college-aged like in the 90's animated series He was college-aged in that series but had been fighting crime ...

Re: The Batman (2021)

All these villains make the movie sound silly as fuck. LOL at the Riddler possibly being the primary villain in a Batman film, but who knows what Reeves and Dano might pull off. I think the only way this film works is if they go extremely weird and balls out crazy, like massive amounts of blood and ...

Re: The Batman (2021)

It ain't that complicated. Tom Hardy's Bane while White clearly wasn't Hispanic. In this case it's more about ethnicity than race.

That reminds me I suppose Liam's Ras al-Ghul wouldn't fly today either. Of course Ras himself was already a racist character, but that's another story.

Re: The Batman (2021)

To be fair to TDKR and any recent adaptations, Catwoman being a heroic ally of Batman is the way the comic books have mostly portrayed her since the late 70s/early 80s. So I can understand why tv and film would want to get out from under the Adam West hold that Catwoman has dealt with in previous de...

Re: Joker (2019)

Nah, that's just Phoenix being Phoenix and Kimmel being Kimmel. Phoenix is a bit surprised and his usual uncomfortable self and Kimmel was a bit of a dope to play that footage but it wasn't *that* awkward or big of a deal.

As for Phillips and Co. yeah perhaps a bit shitty but who knows.

I'm not the biggest fan of the Riddler, there's like only only version from the comics I do like; where he aids the police.
The Riddler is a relatively minor villain in the comic books. It's only because of the 60s tv series and Frank Gorshin that he became as popular as he is.

Re: The Batman (2021)

Maybe if they leave out the parts of The Long Halloween that involve the Falcone/Maroni mob families and anything having to do with Harvey Dent, then it might have a chance.

I agree that it's a decent way to include some of the B-List and C-List villains.

Re: The Batman (2021)

rumored to be based on The Long Halloween Wasn't The Dark Knight ? Not really, no. Only bits and pieces here or there. This news is pretty lame and uninspired if you ask me. Like, way to be original, Reeves. I wish people would forget about the damn Long Halloween for once. Ditto Year One , Returns...
