Re: Inception Review Discussion (156 total)

Michael Phillips: 3 stars http://www.chicagotribune.com/entertainment/movies/sc-mov-0713-inception-20100715,0,6233986.column was this 3 out of 5 stars ?? :( :( :( 3 out of 4. I believe. That sounds more like a mixed review than a negative one. He seems to have been slightly disappointed, but enjoye...

Back in the Batman days, we figured they were bitter about him p...

Re: Hans Zimmer & Johnny Marr To Perform 'Inception' Score W

Just watched the whole thing. Time nearly brought me to tears. And everyone was rocking the **** out on Mombasa! Watching Hans Zimmer and his trope of regulars perform live is always a treat, like last year when the Sherlock Holmes music video with the performers was released, or two years ag...

Re: User Review: Inception -- ThaIllest89

Interesting that you point out the opening set piece as the most sensory overload of the film. There seems to be a divide amongst those who have seen it as to which part of the film is too much for the senses, the first set piece or the last.

Re: User Review: Inception -- ThaIllest89

Awesome review! Can't wait to see it tomorrow night in IMAX. Your review reminds me of Devin Faraci's review, where he basically talked about the same scenes and how the whole film is cinematic bliss. I love the idea of it being a film you need to see again immediately after, not to wrap y...

Re: Original Soundtrack is OUT! Opinions

i guess i'm the minority because i wasn't feeling "mambosa" it just stuck out there like a sore thumb and didn't gel with the fluidity of the rest of the soundtrack. it's a cool stand alone track, but i always tend to skip it because it's such an abrupt change to the vibe and feel of the rest of th...

Re: User Review: The Music of Inception -- by Sallygucha

A couple of thoughts, hopefully we can close the door on this and stop harassing poor Salygucha. There have been times when I have had a similar reaction to music not fitting. It never killed the movie for me, but seeing as how I am a huge music and soundtrack junkie, it definitely would make me twi...

Anyone else getting this impression?
That tends to be the case in a lot of Nolan's work, if not all of it.
