Re: Box Office

Nolan is not a household name. My proof is the movie he made with a production budget of 165 million and not a single box office star (who could be used in the marketing) and ended up grossing only 774 million worldwide. James Cameron has done better on all accounts with Avatar. Higher budget, less...

That’s cause nobody cares about Damien Chazelle movies, he’s not a household name
Interstellar grossed $188 million in the US and Canada.

No director is a household name, anywhere.

Why do you need the big red button if there is a countdown going on?

Perhaps he is wondering why someone would shoot a man before throwing him out of the planesituation.
how did you know the scene featuring the countdown and the red button are the same or related?
I watched the trailer.

Like/Dislike ratio on Youtube seems to be good as well.. It currently sits at 266k likes and 2.4k dislikes. Looks like people are enjoying the trailer Other videos have ridiculously good ratio too. People are ever less likely to dislike a video after youtube made it invisible since most of them thi...

Re: Oppenheimer - General Information

I felt the same with Dunkirk, as there actually weren't a lot of famous retellings and the most recent one beforehand was that (very powerful) one take scene in Atonement that got released a decade beforehand. Dunkirk was more stripped of story and characters than Avatar was. Nolan even boasted he ...

Re: Oppenheimer - General Information

How original does Nolan want to be? Extended trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NF42YJzk_rY&t=1s Considering that show mostly dealt with made up characters, I'd say his originality, or at least his adherence to history is a good move. Originality (or lack thereof) is a good move. FTFY.

Re: Box Office

No amount of speculation is substitute for box office truth. I do not want it to fail but I am not rooting for it either. Nolan's name has been diluted. Look at the comments in trailer and how many people are talking about watching this for Cilian Murphy. 'How could Nolan go from something as ambiti...

Re: Box Office

The ideal outcome, for each artist but really for the health of cinema as a whole -Vader Many people including me rooted for Avatar 2 for the health of theatres and it did not work out well at all. No matter how much you hype something what you or filmmakers have in their heads is unlikely to mater...
