Re: Oppenheimer - General Information

I can definitely see this being in the movie: Robert Serber (1909-1997) was an American physicist. He was recruited by J. Robert Oppenheimer to work on the Manhattan Project. Serber was tasked with explaining the basic principles and goals of the project to all incoming scientific staff. Moving to L...

Re: Untitled Oppenheimer Project - General Information

This bit is interesting though:
Some potential suitors, a group that included Sony, MGM, Paramount, and, despite the falling out, Warner Bros., worried that the film’s subject matter was less than commercial, which made them concerned about the steep price tag.

Re: Cast

I'm listening to this interview with American Prometheus authors Martin J. Sherwin and Kai Bird and they describe Oppenheimer as...
Extremely charismatic. Men and women loved to be around him. He defined leadership.
I don't know. I just see a bigger personality than Murphy playing him.

Heh, I did think "What if Nolan has managed to lure Daniel Day-Lewis out of retirement" earlier today.

I bet it's Mark Rylance.
He’s way too old for the lead part. Would be lovely for a reteam in supporting role though.
This is Oppenheimer in 1945 though:

I’m trying not to get my hopes up but a lot of this makes sense. I’m not sure why Cillian would be the first name mentioned if he wasn’t being considered for the lead.
Would he really cast an Irishman to play Oppenheimer though?
