Re: Get Out (2017)

It Bacon, It. Not IT, but It. I swear to god the film's name is not IT.£ People are saying IT to differentiate it (lol) from the miniseries. I'm definitely not the only one. Yeah I started referring to It as IT since for about a week I kept capitalizing "It" when texting about the movie on my phone...

Re: Get Out (2017)

Is it bad that I knew basically where this movie was headed plotwise until the very end with who comes out of the cop car. I thought the original ending was going to happen, which is kind of the point of the film. Nah. Get Out tries to be schlocky horror fun in equal parts to its social allegory. T...

Re: Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017)

Tell that to Claudio Miranda . Point being, it’s not always as easy, and especially with these two, who are literally working buddies since college. A Director can leave some compositional responsibilities to a DP. A lot of Directors have very specific shot ideas that they want, and then they work ...

Re: Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017)

I'm not confused, dear Vader . In general, ever since you started commenting on the photography of Rian Johnson movies ( Looper etc.) you never mention his constant collaborative partner. Yes, that's his job, he is the director of the entire thing, but the majority of what you see in terms of light...

Re: Box Office Dojo

It should also be noted that as far as Lucasfilm is concerned, domestic totals are a much more valuable number than foreign ones. It's pretty much assured to be the top grossing domestic film of the year since it's already #3 and will pass Wonder Woman by tomorrow, and likely B&B by the first week o...

Re: Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017)

Second Friday had a 76.4% drop from the opening Friday, compared to 58.6% for Awakens and 67.8% for Rogue One . I would be very surprised if Disney suits are not seriously upset by these results.£ I don't think they would be upset at all. TLJ will still get to $700-800 domestically and 1.7-1.8 WW. ...

Appreciate the post, Armand. TFA inspired so much in me that it didn't in you, but it's awesome to see TLJ hitting you in that way.

Re: Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017)

Having complete and cohesive arc has nothing to do with her character development, she has none in TFA. She has some in TLJ. I connected with Rey in both movies because of Daisy Ridley , she elevates the material. wow She never goes beyond the realistic approach (that is realism as portrayed in 19t...
