Man, he's running around like a chicken with his head cut off with these interviews. I'm not used to seeing Nolan out and about this much - always struck me as an introvert.
Is it because the cast is on strike so he has to promote it himself?

The User Score in Metacritic is insane (9.3).
Not only that, but imdb score is 9/10 after 37,000 ratings.
Not that its the end-all-be-all rating but it suggests this movie may have strong legs in the coming weeks.

Re: "Oppenheimer" Reviews Discussion

94 on RT :gonf: Damn. I'm impressed that the rating has been going up. At the same time the average score is still 8.8/10 which is excellent. Also I clicked on it and while it still says 94% on the site, when I click the number to get the average score it says 95%. Does that mean it's actually 95% ...

Re: Oppenheimer - Awards Speculation

I would much rather see him win for Director than anything else. I could definitely see a split happening with him winning Director and another movie winning Picture. Oh absolutely. If Nolan wins Best Director I'll be very satisfied (though I'd love it if the film swept, even if it doesn't win BP i...

Re: Oppenheimer - Awards Speculation

Look at the last 4-5 films to win Best Picture. The Oscars have started to avoid their usual oscarbait type historical biopic pick. The films they pick nowadays tend to have more to do with a marginalized community. I think Oppenheimer will get a lot of nominations but walk away with only a couple ...

Re: Nolan's Next Film

You guys think he'll make a film in a genre he's already done (science fiction, war, psychological thriller, etc) or try his hand at another like a western or horror (I could see him trying his hand at the latter sometime).

Re: Dunkirk Awards Season Discussion Thread

There's an incredibly good chance I won't see a single film in 2018. Cinema is dead. LOL don't be silly. You can avoid the awards season if you want but to stop watching movies altogether? I mean the Oscars aren't the be-all and end-all of cinema. People are so extra. We spend the entire year prepp...
