Re: Dunkirk Industry/Celebrity Buzz

So far the reception looks good. Seems like the Metacritic should be in the mid-70s at least.

Re: Dunkirk Industry/Celebrity Buzz

This is mostly true. Obviously they wouldn't be saying it was intense or to see it on 70 millimeter if it was bad. You don't endorse that someone sees a bad movie. I'm sure Transformers 5 had plenty of intense action, yet it didn't get the same reaction. You can infer, without being directly told, ...

Re: Dunkirk Industry/Celebrity Buzz

Huh, plenty of tweets have described the quality of the film. I can sense some bitterness - maybe he didn't get the early screening invite. Doesn't even seem like something you'd Tweet if you didn't like it. His Tweet as a response to the Tweet about props doesn't even make sense. Unless the movie ...

Re: IMAX Locations and Info Thread

About 3 hours nonstop. I'd love to but I can't see 6 hour round trip on a Sunday in New York traffic... Assuming you have the time and money, it's totally worth driving hours to New York, there and back, to see the movie on one of, if not the largest, screens in the US. There's excellent food nearl...

Re: Box Office

I think one of main factors to increase Dunkirk BO total is Critics' Reviews Interstellar got less than expected (at least domestically) because some critics' though it's was not what they expected For Dunkirk if it gets a critical acclaim the opening weekend will be ore than $60 million, everybody...

Re: Dunkirk Industry/Celebrity Buzz

Nolan has a ton of power at Warner Brothers. That includes critical embargoes, trailers, TV ads, and any other marketing material. He's not just the director either, he's the writer and producer. They paid him $20m upfront for this movie, which is an absurd amount of money for a guy who's "just the...

Re: Dunkirk Industry/Celebrity Buzz

Nolan has absolutely nothing to with when embargos are lifted. He's the director, not the marketing head.

Re: IMAX Locations and Info Thread

How is the Maryland Science Center IMAX? Can't find any measurements. I went to Loews Lincoln Square 13 for Interstellar and probably will for Dunkirk, but Maryland Science Center IMAX is a lot closer. From what I've seen in Google Images, it seems pretty small, with the guard rail for the front sta...

Re: Dunkirk's Soundtrack

Whatever the context of this piece of music is, it doesn't change that it's 8 minutes of derivative monotony that sounds more like something you'd get from Hans working with Zack Snyder. But, each soundtrack from Hans has a few mediocre or bad tracks, hopefully this isn't representative of the rest ...
