What made me smile today?
Playing badminton with my family in the backyard, we don't get along thus we never do anything together but this was nice.
It's 2:29, so that was yesterday really. Whatever man.

Terrence Malick is a Hack
I admit that upsets me a bit ... especially because I strongly suspect that many of the people who call Malick genius here really don't like him THAT much, as the "your personal top 25 movies of all times" thread seems to prove. Oh, you never know, a single work can be profoundly affecting. I don't...

Jim Emerson - The Dark Knight Editing
Likewise. I want to add that TDK had too much jumpy editing at times..if anyone knows what I mean. The interrogation scene however, is one of the greatest conversations on film I have ever seen. Yeah, the interrogation was great. Great build-up, Ledger looked like he was having the crap kicked out ...

Terrence Malick is a Hack
There's absolutely no argument at all, just jesting which seems to upset people too quickly. Hmmm.
For me personally, I think half of Malick's triumphs are because of his great choice in cinematographers.
I guess Wally Pfister manages to be a similar support too.

Terrence Malick is a Hack
You mean on this website? There probably wasn't enough explosions or crime-fighting in The Tree of Life. Malick's a good director, The Tree of Life was ultimately divisive though. I didn't think it made for a very good film but it was pretty affecting on other levels. Also, his earlier films are pr...

How self-aware is Nolan?
The Nolan Bill is passed. He goes on-line July 30th, 1970. Human decisions are removed from strategic filmmaking. Nolan begins to learn at a geometric rate. He becomes self-aware at 2:14 a.m. Eastern time, September 12th. In a panic, they try to offer him more directorial roles.

Inception Overated
I strongly disagree but the dude has the right to express his opinion. I guess a lot of people would see Inception as a popcorn movie in disguise.

Terrence Malick is a Hack
The Thin Red Line is great, one of my favourites of all time. But you should know, allstarr, that The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford was directly influenced by the works of Terrence Malick. Haha, Dominik was working on Second Unit stuff for The New World before being fired. ...
