Re: Oppenheimer - Awards Speculation

Oppenheimer has been nominated for the ASC (American Society of Cinematographers) awards and is apparently the only film so far that hasn't missed a nomination in every guild so far. Very interesting to see Barbie miss a nomination here. I thought it was a frontrunner to be nominated in cinematogra...

Re: Oppenheimer - Awards Speculation

With Poor Things and Holdovers snubbed at SGA, and Color Purple and American Fiction not getting a nomination at DGA, it looks like it's a three film race for the Oscar now between Barbie, Killers of the Flower Moon and Oppenheimer. However, even though those are the three main favorites, Oppenheim...

Re: Oppenheimer - Awards Speculation

The list of actors included in Best ensemble is so reductive. Like how can Krumholtz or Clarke not be there ? Yeah, I know, it's all about billing order. I would like the enitre cast up to Remar, Thirlby and Blair to be there! Happy to see Quaid, Dastmalchian... were invited at the GG afterparty. S...

With POOR THINGS and THE HOLDOVERS missing SAG Best Ensemble, OPPENHEIMER secure his edge in Oscars Best Picture competition.
I'm shocked those 2 movies did not make it. That said, they are still gonna be serious contenders at the Oscars.

Re: Nolanhack's Next Flick

Saw a quote on Deadline that Nolan supposedly told this guy at the Golden Globes after-party. It sounds like the James Bond rumors are total bullshit. I hope that's accurate. My preference is for Nolan to stay away from franchise material for the rest of his career. https://deadline.com/2024/01/gold...

Re: Oppenheimer - Awards Speculation

Moonlight won best drama at the golden globes the year La La land won best musical/comedy So the Oscar’s were actually in line with the globes that year Assuming there are legitimately 3-5 actual best picture contenders Oppenheimer Poor things Barbie Killers of the flower moon Let’s say those are t...

Re: Oppenheimer - Awards Speculation

Given how often the Golden Globes award picks DONT follow the trajectory of the industry picks, I’m concerned Yep. Social Network and La La Land are good examples of it. Given Nolan’s history with the Oscars, I will expect more snubs for him in major categories until the trend is broken. Moonlight ...

Re: Oppenheimer - Awards Speculation

Too bad the Golden Globes are silly. They gave Bohemian Rhapsody best picture. Still excited. Oscars are looking promising now. Well this is a new voting group as far as ive heard, it definitely seems more critic oriented this time around. Way more voters involved now at least, around 300 voters at...
