Huh, so it does exist. I kinda pictured PTA just turning up to the set on the first day with a ragged copy of the book and a pen and tearing out pages and scribbling in new stuff as he went along. Wonder why it wasn't available to the public.

I think the structure of the film feels quite uneven, by the end the payoff doesn't feel like much because everything leading up to that is a handful of good scenes kinda squished together. PTA knew how to write some interesting scenes back then but he didn't learn how to string them together effect...
