Re: Theory for How Kicks Work

I think it's impossible to know for sure unless an official explanation comes out. For a movie with so much explanation, that last sequence of kicks is pretty vague. Agreed. I just saw it my second time after much reading on this forum so I was definitely on the lookout for explanations and there r...

Re: The Kick

bmneu, that's a great post...I like your factual approach, but I don't buy the Pull/Push Kick thing as per my earlier post. Fact: the movie only describes one type of Kick (the pull kick) which comes from a higher level up You've offered a great number of answers to some lingering questions I had bu...

Re: Just saw it, and I have questions

I'm trying to decide whether the ending was real or not, so I have a few questions: - Sometimes dying in a dream brought the person back to reality, but other times it sent the person to limbo. How is the distinction made? Generally, when they die in the dream they wake up. However in a heavily seda...

Re: An Illustrated Guide To the 5 Levels of Inception

The kicks are fine on the illustration, not sure why you think they are wrong.

The only gripe I have with it is they include "reality" as Level 1. Depending on how you look at it I guess that's correct, but I tend to exclude reality since we are talking about 1st level dream, 2nd levl dream, etc.

Re: Crucial Scene

I'm not willing to buy into it too much... This whole movie is basically one large frame-story. That first scene serves only to set up the the overarching frame in my opinion. It wouldn't be great storytelling if there wasn't a little mystery left to be revisited and eventually answered by the end, ...

Dream Within a Dream!

Followed closely by Mombassa

Those two pretty much summarize the whole feel of the movie for me.

Re: The Kick

I think the idea of the 'kick' might be becoming a little convoluted on this thread. While it is an interesting notion to think of the kick in terms of being a 'pull' or 'push'...in reality the movie only explicitly defines one sort of kick. It is explained that in the event one cannot be roused fro...

Re: Listen to Michael Caine very closely at the ending.(Airp

When Michael Caine's character welcomes Cobb back at the airport it sounds like he says "Welcome." However, on my second watch of the movie it is clear that he says "You're Welcome". The you're is very very faint, but it is definitely there. I think this solidifies the idea that Michael Caine all a...
