no, metropolis is a metropolis. gotham was always meant to be a dark and gloomy city. Because billionaires and rich folk want to live in Gotham because its dark and gloomy? Come on, there are rich parts to a city and there are slums to a city. I can't believe you guys are complaining about the city...

I have watched all Pfister-Nolan film(haven't seen Following), I think his best cinematography while working with Nolan is The Prestige and The Dark Knight. But, Inception and Memento is amazing too. He should've won for The Dark Kngiht!!

In my opinion The Hurt Locker is a good movie. It has some great parts in it. But, it's a bit strange for movie like this to win the Best Picture.
