Re: USA's Mr. Robot

Okay, say what you will about how the season started, these last three episodes have been exceptional.

Re: HBO's Westworld

Makes me wonder if there'd be world building flashbacks, where at one point of time this wasn't the case (the park is 30 years old, in-universe), & Hopkins's character added this facet eventually, in order to ensure his vision stays intact (& that eventually comes to bite him in the backside). Much...

Re: CBS' Star Trek: Discovery

I mean it's nice, but I hope they don't make it a huge promotional point for the show. I've always felt like making a big deal out of characters' genders or self-congratulation over having a female lead or whatnot was more indicative of underlying gender bias - i.e. "Look how progressive we are!" ki...

Re: Daisy Ridley to star in "Chaos Walking"

How would you compare them with THG? I've only red that and Harry Potter of course. Tonally, I suppose they'd be more in line with the later Harry Potter books and THG (though I've only read the first book of that series). Re: Daisy Ridley to star in "Chaos Walking"

For what it's worth, I quite enjoyed the book series. Ridley is however considerably older than the character I believe she's playing, but whatever.
For anyone interested, the books are - at least in my opinion - far better than your standard YA fare.

Re: Jason Bourne (2016)

As an action movie, I'd say it's largely functional. I'm pretty sure government intelligence agencies don't have a folder named 'Black Ops' and I'm pretty sure they don't distribute spyware for shits and giggles at tech conventions and I'm pretty sure nobody put that much effort into the screenplay....

Re: USA's Mr. Robot

Just watched the second half of the premiere
Great start to the season.
Also if anyone doesn't already, I'd recommend checking out The AV Club's reviews of the show. They tend to point out some stuff I miss on a first viewing.
