Yeah that wasn't too reassuring. If he feels he's restricted as an actor that tells me there's a problem in the writing, the character itself , or perhaps a lack of understanding on his part.

Not just that his dialogue is often times clunky and packed with exposition. It really bugs me when I'm watching Begins. TDK didn't have this problem as much.

Ya'll are looking to much into this. I'm 100% sure he didn't mean anything by what he said. He's just saying this will probably be the last time he plays Alfred since this is Nolan's last Batman film.

nolan has a said he doesnt think ahead to the next film. I guarantee he wasn't thinking about a sequel when he made TDK. And I imagine if Ledger were alive, he'd be a part of the story.
