Re: 'Dunkirk' Nolan Fans Member Reviews (NFometer)

I walked out disappointed, probably because over the past two years, I inevitably conjured up my version of what I expected the movie to be. But hours later, I am still shaking from the experience, and I can't wait to go back for a second viewing. This is the third time something like this has happ...

Re: 'Dunkirk' Nolan Fans Member Reviews (NFometer)

Okay, I'm going to hit the "I didn't care about any characters" from another angle (possible spoilers). Many reviewers, like the ones who would state my above quote, acknowledge that Nolan's vision puts you onto the beach with the soldiers as if you are one of them. There are 400,000 soldiers. Tell ...

Or did you mean there was a similar standee in California?
Same thing in SJ is all I was saying. Not saying that shot wasn't in HK. Just stating it doesn't have that thing exclusively.

Re: 'Dunkirk' Nolan Fans Member Reviews (NFometer)

That's what happens when you hype something 24-7, for two years. I've done it before and I'm going to cinema clear minded this time round. ;) For those of you who've seen the movie, can you possibly rank Nolan movies now, or is it too early? Is Dunkirk low tier, mid tier or among his best for you? ...

Re: 'Dunkirk' Nolan Fans Member Reviews (NFometer)

This is true.

I do personally think this will play fine with 30+ y.o. general audiences. Any teenage girls coming in to see Harry will probably not like the film very much due to its style.

The only thing I don't think this film will have going for it with general audiences is repeat viewings.

Re: Dunkirk General Information/Discussion

A question to those who have already seen it (sorry if this is already been asked, I didn't see it anywhere) Was your theater full? I'm wondering about ticket sales at this point. Mine was a Monday advance screening that was not only full, but 50 people couldn't even be accommodated (the WB screene...

Re: 'Dunkirk' Nolan Fans Member Reviews (NFometer)

My point is that they aren't necessary looking for the film to beef up the scenes that we already have, but they need a prelude. How did they get to the point that they are at? That's what most critics are looking for, in my opinion. That's why it's pretty shocking to see the rave reviews from so m...
