Re: Appearances of the Cast and Crew

If I were sitting a couple seats away from Nolan, I would not be able to focus on the movie I was watching.

Re: Tenet - Awards Season Discussion Thread

Tenet's performance this awards season has indeed been disappointing, and for me it especially hurts that Göransson didn't get in because I truly believe it was more deserving than all the other scores that got nominated (except for maybe Soul). But one weird way to look at the situation is to liter...

Re: The Killer (TBD)

The graphic novel sounds similar to Le Samourai or the George Clooney movie The American. Something like that from Fincher could be brilliant.

Re: [SPOILER] Discussion/Speculation Thread

I was thinking about the number of causal loops (or “bootstrap” paradoxes) that exist throughout the film, and I realized that the plot doesn’t just feature a series causal loops, but rather a nested structure of causal loops – the central loop (the Tallinn highway chase) comprises plot points that ...

Bond movie references/tropes in Tenet (spoilers)

I decided to compile a list of all the "Bondian" elements that Tenet borrows (expanding on my post in the prologue thread about the "cold open" first shot). A lot of people have said that this IS Nolan's Bond movie, and it's easy to see many of the elements that make it that (the exotic locations, t...

Re: Prologue

I think that the more Nolan can use IMAX, the more he can establish opening shots. It also depends on how the score plays a role in how he wants to communicate that opening. Additionally, I have my own two bits of "Nolanism" insights, spoiled both for length and content. ^ Interestingly enough, one...

Re: Prologue

I like thinking about the opening shots of movies and what motivates the choice of a particular opening shot, and I think it’s interesting how Tenet’s is quite different from the opening shots of Nolan’s other films. The first images that we see in Following, Memento, and Insomnia are close-ups of e...

Re: Nolanhack's Next Flick

When asked about the Howard Hughes project during his recent appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Nolan said he would probably read through the script again soon to see if it still "speaks to him." So that could still be a possibility...
