Re: Last Film You Watched? VI

Another Round Doesnt quite live up to previous work like The Hunt but its one of the better films of the year. Mads shines and really is the glue. The direction is sharp. I do however find the last scene a bit jarring. Although I like what its trying to convey and I think some will love it. For me i...

Re: Mank (2020)

1. Zodiac 2. Gone Girl 3. TSN 4. Seven 5. TGWTDT 6. Fight Club 7. Ben Button 8. The Game 9. Mank 10. Panic Room 11. Alien 3 This was a let down for me. Has its moments but overall just a bit aimless. Never really takes off. Also I know Fincher is a champion of digital but not sold it was the right f...

Re: Coronavirus v Cinema: Dawn of Streaming

What Nolan said is actually quite brave and admirable how he did not mince words about a studio he worked with his whole career. Yeah it seems to often the industry standard is to praise these kind of decisions and adapt but Nolan really does care about not only his work but his colleagues as well....

Re: Mank (2020)

I have almost watched this like five times. I will make the leap tonight I think. Just want to be in the right mood. Always been a fairly big Fincher fan so excited to see what he brings with this.

Re: TENET - General Information

Quite the opposite with my family and friends who are pretty big Nolan fans. They appreciate the scale of the film but cant help but think it falls short of his most beloved work.

Re: The Mandalorian (TV)

I can see both sides. Without a doubt you could pull up a clip I am sure where he is crossing the line. That being said he has come across as a likable person on podcasts etc and I don't think he at all lives by the material of his comedy. I can see why you have issue with the influence he has on hi...

Re: Mank (2020)

I don't know if I can make a list of five films let alone ten that have really stuck with me this year. Minari and Nomadland are my two most anticipated for sure. Will be checking out Mank very soon.

i would not put cash on a cinematography nom
Im with you on this. Although it's a pretty film its the lesser of Hoyetmas work with Nolan. Dunkirk being the best. Interstellar has more ups and downs but man the color grade shines when it does work.
