Re: Oppenheimer - Early Reactions

The embargo that was sent out is for "reviews" only, notably. Guessing social media reactions out of the premiere a bit earlier, maybe social for the 18th in general.

This is surprising, but as I mentioned before, the 18th is when many press are indeed seeing it.

Re: Box Office

Almost all movies that aren't IP/sequels/action movies have lost money in theaters from 2020 forward. But the first reactions were to early in somecases like Dunkirk (July 10).
Do we know when Oppenheimer will be shown to the press?
Unsure when the embargo breaks, but it's screening in many cities relatively late on the 18th of July. Most likely reactions week or so ahead of that.

A Man For All Seasons (1966) : this was an excellently-acted, very emotional historical drama about Sir Thomas More and his silence on the issue of king Henry VIII's divorce from Catherine of Aragon as well as his attitude with regard to the Oath of Supremacy declaring Henry VIII Supreme Head of th...

Re: Oppenheimer - General Information

A general rule of thumb is to doubt leaks that happen to "leak" things people are already widely assuming without new information. Easy to guess, easy to seem retroactively correct.

Re: Avatar: The Way of Water (2022)

Well to be fair, No Way Home had a better reception from both critics and audience and the cultural impact was significantly larger. But with Oscar, prestige and precedent are very important factors, which is why Wakanda Forever and The Way of Water are much closer to getting BP nominations compare...
