Re: Dunkirk General Information/Discussion

Probably not the appropriate thread, but I'm not going to lie, if 1917 wins Best Picture I'm going to lose my shit. I'd be just as annoyed, but I don't see it happening. Fat chance it leapfrogs The Irishman, Parasite and Once Upon a Time. 1917 is an easy movie to slot into the nomination...

partaking in discussions surrounding the hype leading up to the film's release is part of what makes being a "Nolan Fan(TM)" so fun.

Re: TENET - General Information/Discussion/Speculation

Created an account just for this reason: After reading numerous posts and spending countless hours researching, here's a few theories and predictions... We know that Nolan is going to incorporate the concept of time. We have "Time has come for a new protagonist, Time has come for a new mission, Tim...

Re: What problems/issues you had with Inception?

I never connected to the film emotionally. I think should have been scenes with Cobb and his kids to establish that relationship. Borden’s relationship with his daughter in The Prestige was so much more devastating and rewarding for me. This is not going to be popular, but I would not have cast Mari...

Re: Nolan's Best Film?

Just rewatched this with my family, and it just may be Nolan’s best work. It has all the narrative/structural brilliance, but the character work and emotional storytelling are a cut above. It’s Bale’s best performance in a Nolan film, for my money, and I think he’s great in all three TDK films. Cain...

Re: Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (2019)

I think it's Tarantino's first truly provocative film in a long time. Inglourious Basterds and Django Unchained are sensationalistic, but they both fall square in the middle of the dominant cultural narrative -- especially the narrative coming out of Hollywood.* Perhaps ironically, Once Upon a Time....

Re: TENET - General Information/Discussion/Speculation

Batman Begins - 140 minutes
The Prestige - 130
The Dark Knight - 152
Inception - 148

The Dark Knight Rises - 164
Interstellar - 169
Dunkirk - 107

I think Tenet will be about 150 minutes long.

Re: Trailer #2

That's not how it works lol Dunkirk's December 2016 trailer is still the most viewed, with the May 2017 trailer trailing far behind. Tenet might be a different story. I think Dunkirk was more anticipated, so it was more frontloaded, whereas Tenet kind of came out of nowhere for most people.. Plus y...

Re: Trailer #2

https://i.imgur.com/sHWEozh.jpg lmao i still low key freak out whenever i hear him speak I know, right?! Especially at the end of the trailer, that one really gets me. The "hasn't happened yet." It's uncanny. His cadence when he says “To do what I do, I need some idea of the threat we face” is his ...
