Re: Uncut Gems (2019)

The crazy thing about Garnett and The Weeknd’s roles in the film is that they showed they weren’t infallible. It’s amazing that the Safdies convinced them to do that.

2 Awards contenders, Marriage Story and The Irishman are coming to the Criterion Collection!
Atlantics and American Factory are also Netflix awards contenders coming to the Collection.

I highly recommend Atlantics!

But will Netflix get it and stream it in HDR pretty please? This is such a beautifully made film.

Re: 1917 (2019)

I wouldn't compare it to Apocalypse Now so much as Gravity, even down to interweaving of visual metaphors. In Gravity you had motifs of wombs, birth, and rebirth, here there are the trees / family units and so on. Other than a few scenes here or there that indeed are very reminiscent of scenes in D...

For people that don't know, because it kind of shocks me how many people don't know this yet, but the guy who wrote Parasite's score wrote it all. Even the pieces that sound classical. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OYfWvatyNAQ Yep, not by Handel as some (incl. the Nerdwriter video’s that floating ...
