Re: Birds of Prey and the fantabulous emancipation of one harley quinn (2020)

Even if this ends up never getting a sequel, imo it's one of the best comicbook movies ever made.

Re: Last Film You Watched? VI

Niagara (1953) Marilyn Monroe is laying very much against type in this rather intriguing and suspenseful thriller/film noir. The twists the story takes are rather well-executed. If I had to point to a flaw it's the performance of Max Showalter whose line delivery somehow takes me out of the experie...

It'll be pretty hard to present their relationship better than the animated 2019 Harley Quinn show though.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) DEUX YOU BLEED?

Snyder is essentially just an edgelord who wants to make grimdark stuff because he thinks that alone means it's sophisticated. I can accept edgy stuff that is violent and depressing but when something takes itself seriously it better have substance and be excellently made or otherwise the very fact ...

Portrait of a Lady on Fire - I feel like I’m under some kind of spell. So simple and ‘bare’ from its plot to dialogue, but it felt like magic. Doesn’t try to encompass itself with too much subtext artifice, its strongest point is the ability to make you feel like you’re just existing with these peo...

Re: USA Presidential Election: Trump v. [???] (2020)

NYTimes - How It All Came Apart for Bernie Sanders For months, his political advisers and outside allies had quietly mulled a shift in tone — the possibility that Mr. Sanders might take even modest steps to show skeptical Democrats that he could unify the party. But he has always been disdainful of...

Re: USA Presidential Election: Trump v. [???] (2020)

Shit like this makes me worry that Trump will get re-elected. Apparently it doesn't matter that he keeps lying in national briefings  In the new poll, 55% of Americans approve of the president's management of the crisis, compared to 43% who disapprove. Trump’s approval on this issue is up...

Lol, these people make me laugh. They probably should have just supported the real deal instead of waiting to be courted by Sanders: https://www.wsj.com/articles/biden-sanders-relationship-to-guide-next-phase-in-democratic-race-11584648197 Also, if you want to see someone tackle COVID-19, here's a v...
