Re: Tenet - Box Office Discussion/Speculation
Absolutely. They need to forget the idea of opening same day round the globe or we'll be waiting 2-3 years for anything to release and cinemas can't survive that, our governments don't care enough about the arts to give proper financial support to remain closed the whole time. Release first in the c...

Re: Tenet - Box Office Discussion/Speculation
If theaters become staging grounds for the virus and cases get traced there, 2020 is DONE. I’m the biggest Nolan apologist around, but the wise move might be 2021. Totally sucks but this is a once in a century kind of event. What happens when the 2021 wave hits and we're still not much closer to a ...

Re: TENET - General Information/Discussion/Speculation
https://twitter.com/Screendaily/status/1276050106756861952 How appallingly loose. Didn't really expect anything different from these companies but it's still embarrassingly poor, and I say that as someone planning to see it in 70mm. I'll be keeping my N.95 mask on and sealed from the moment I leave...

Re: Which IMAX Theaters Are You Going?
It's Waterloo or bust for me, 70mm, we'll see how the next couple of months shakes out. I'm lucky in that I can get there and back without having to use public transport & am able to isolate for two weeks before and two weeks after, so any risk to others will be as minimised as possible.

Re: TENET - General Information/Discussion/Speculation
Aug-Oct realistically. We have no idea how long a vaccine will take to develop or if it will even be possible, depending on how fast it mutates. We can delay the release to a period where it's believed it will be easier to suppress the spread of the virus through sanitising/distancing measures etc.,...

Re: TENET - General Information/Discussion/Speculation
The plan by Vue is for what they will do if/when they're allowed to open by law, it doesn't have any bearing on when they will actually re-open. EDIT: Also, re: the above- From what I've seen of the UK press releases tonight so far, cinemas are not mentioned in the section on the "Stage 3" planned f...

Re: Tenet - Box Office Discussion/Speculation
They're separate cinemas! The Odeon at Leicester Square opened after a multi million pound Dolby Cinema refurbishment a year and a half ago, and still has 5-perf 70mm in the booth.. BFI IMAX at Waterloo is still there and though there was that risk, the venue going down at the moment feels unlikely...

Re: Tenet - Box Office Discussion/Speculation
Do we know what the status of the BFI IMAX Odeon at Leicester Square is, pandemic closure notwithstanding? Last I heard- Autumn of 2019- it was one of multiple listed buildings in the Lambeth-Waterloo area earmarked for demolition to make way for property development in the very near future. A coupl...
Re: Trailer #2/Prologue
Just arrived home from the Dunkirk 70mm IMAX screening at the BFI last night. Love that place! No prologue- but we did get the teaser, second advert in.
