Re: Other filmmakers on Christopher Nolan

MICHAEL MANN: “He works within the system here in a very commanding way. He has large ideas. He’s a complete auteur. He invented the post-heroic superhero. He can come up with an idea for a science fiction heist inside the moving contours of a dreaming mind and he had the boldness and audacity to h...

Re: Nolan vs. Greengrass: Who does better action?

Nolan is the far superior director, but I'm giving the action scene edge to Greengrass. Personally, I enjoy his shaky-cam work in The Bourne Supremacy and The Bourne Ultimatum . Those are two of the finest action movies ever made, especially Ultimatum. He also does great work in his other films. Per...

Re: 'Interstellar' Nolan Fans Member Reviews

Cooper took less time to decide he was leaving his entire family than it takes me choose between brands of chocolate milk. -Vader I don't think he had much of a decision to make. Caine's character made it pretty clear to him. Leaving your children is an emotional decision, not a logical one. It's a...

Re: 'Interstellar' Reviews Discussion

"What a time to be alive..." That line cracks me up. The wait is killing me! Meanwhile, am I the only person who is so surprised at how divisive this film is? I've been a Nolan fan for years and most of my friends and family love his movies. It's hard to find someone who truly dislikes his work. Bu...

Re: Interstellar Oscar Chances

Movie will still get nominated and may win. Agreed. A nice box office return could do wonders for the movie's buzz. Nobody expected "Gravity" to have such a massive box office impact and it rode that wave all the way to the Oscars. Granted, it also received much better critical reception. Speaking ...

Re: Marvel Cinematic Universe Discussion Thread

Shots have been fired. According to The Guardian, Warner Bros. — likely having been astounded by the haul of "The Avengers" the year before — asked Snyder to add a Marvel-style post-credits scene to "Man Of Steel." And according to the paper, Nolan's reply was simple: “A real movie wouldn't do that...

Re: The NBA 2014-2015 Official Thread

Being a UK basketball fan, the NBA is more fun than ever. Our alumni are all over the league and playing at a high level: Anthony Davis: Opened the NBA season with a 26-point, 17-rebound, 9-block masterpiece Demarcus Cousins: Dominated the Clippers with 34 points, 17 rebounds, 5 assists & 3 blocks J...

Re: Predict Rotten Tomatoes/IMDb scores

Currently up to 76% on Rotten Tomatoes & an incredible 9.4/10 rating on IMDB! That obviously won't last and is quite hilarious, especially if you read the film's message board. Nolan haters are freaking out about it :gonf:
