Re: American Hustle (2013)
I've always wanted to see a fat Christian Bale. We all know he can be as buff as anything (Batman, American Psycho) and extremely thin (The Fighter, The Machinist, Rescue Dawn). All we've missed is a tubby Bale  I don't know another actor who can shift his weight as well as Bale can. Th...

Re: American Hustle (2013)
It'll be interesting to hear Amy Adam's accent in this, isn't her character British?

Re: The Nymphomaniac (2013)
I love a good sexploitation film and I'm a fan of Von Trier when he's on form but I don't know, Shia Labeouf really does have the most punchable face. Though I have to admit I didn't find him as annoying as I would in Lawless.

Re: Topher Grace joins the cast
Just a trivial observation but has anyone noticed that (with the exception of Sir Michael Caine) this is an entirely American cast? TDK trilogy, Inception and The Prestige are known for their international casts. This might be Nolan's most US centric film since Insomnia. Whoo! http://i.qkme.me/3om5...

Re: Favorite Actor?
She's become a fast favourite of mine even though she's only really burst on to the scene in the last 4-5 years. Definitely a one to watch for anyone outside of the UK.didich wrote:While in no way a favorite of mine, she was a pleasant surprise indeed.

Re: Twelve Years a Slave (2013)
Looks promising  I have to admit I'm one of the very few people who disliked a Django Unchained (I can't ignore the similarities, if only in terms of visuals) 12 Years A Slave looks the much weightier of the two. I love Steve McQueen's previous two films and I'm a long time follower of ...

Re: Can The Dark Knight be watched as a standalone?
I wouldn't recommend it because the other two films are terrific too. I love TDK and it's a contender for my favourite film but I have to say, had I not seen Batman Begins i don't think I would've been half as interested in Batman's war on crime in the sequel. Most of the character development of th...

Re: The Nolan Fans Awesome Scale: The Dark Knight Rises
Wow, almost been a year since this came out. I remember coming out of the IMAX cinema thinking I couldn't have wished for a better ending to the trilogy. I loved how the story came full circle to the first film, Batman Begins. Christian Bale quite possibly gives his series best performance and obvio...
