Re: Jonathan Nolan & Lisa Joy Appreciation Thread
Strong initial reviews on Rotten Tomatoes...hope this is big hit for Jonah after the disappointment that ended up happening with Westworld.

Re: Nolanhack's Next Flick
Hope we have some kind of announcement soon. After following news and info for a year or two through the announcement of "Oppenheimer" then the casting, filming, release, box office, awards campaign, and the eventual awards success. I miss it and am going through Nolan withdrawals.

Re: Oppenheimer - Awards Speculation
As a long time, Nolan fan and longtime poster here, this was a great night to share with you guys...Well deserved...So glad Cillian won, too. Oppenheimer won everything I expected it to win, I figured sound was going to Zone of Interest...Was hoping for a screenplay upset, but oh well, still a great...

Re: Oppenheimer - Awards Speculation
I agree that the lack of screenplay recognition is perplexing...but that seems to be the standard set from the get-go with these different organizations handing out awards, Oppenheimer is good enough to be nominated but not win. Also, they tend to award screenplays that have snappy dialogue, even th...

Brutally Honest Oscar Ballot No. 1: https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/academy-voter-shares-oscar-votes-1235837796/ If there's a movie that would beat "Oppenheimer", I'm thinking it would be "The Zone of Interest". I've seen a few of these anonymous voting ballots, and Zone has bee...

Re: Oppenheimer - Awards Speculation
Pleasantly surprised that Murphy won! Thought for sure they would go with Giamatti.

Re: Interviews - Cast and Crew
I don't disagree with him on press tours (I do on "Red Eyes"), but I want him to win and every vote counts, and he's already gone through all these months of campaigning with screenings and other events be very nice and cordial....just literally wait two more weeks before giving any hot takes that c...

https://deadline.com/2024/02/cillian-murphy-hollywood-film-press-tours-broken-model-1235825130/ Really wish Murphy would wait a couple more weeks (like when Oscar voting is over) before he says stuff that could be viewed by some as insulting or condescending, such as, his dislike of press tours and...

Re: Oppenheimer - Awards Speculation
I hope Oppenheimer wins as many awards as possible, but in the end, if it's just director and picture, I'll sigh with relief and be happy cause I'm pessimistic enough to be fearful that it'll get shut out or something. Also, if I honest, Poor Things is a beautiful looking film with some incredible s...
