Re: Catalan Referendum
Things are really more than little tense here. I'm not pro-independence myself, as I favor a less centralized government and something more akin to a federal system within Spain itself but today's the first time I'm actually thinking about the validity of the request. "FUCKED UP" doesn't even begin ...

Re: Ready Player One (2018)
I thought Spielberg could inject this with some soul like say, Cuarón did with the third Potter film, but it looks strangely like any other YA adaptation (Maze Runner and its ilk).

Re: Avengers: Infinity War (2018)
I'm glad they made Thanos look huge unlike pathetic Apocalypse. Re: The Incredibles 2 (2018)

Re: Death Note (2017)
Well, let's just say... no traditional villain. A lot of the shit in Death Note runs right at the edge of morality. Characters are in the wrong... but there's a difference between being in the wrong and being a villain. They function in a grey area. Which is why I have a hard time pointing out real...

Re: Death Note (2017)
They seem to have butchered the most interesting character, though. And I disagree about looking stylistically interesting too - the chases, explosions and stravaganza scream "generic hollywood" to me, which I'd probably tolerate if the source material wasn't pretty much a quiet, if admittedly highl...

Re: Biggest Pet Peeves in Movies
Bad dubbing Is there good dubbing, though? I guess in anmation it doesn't make much difference (although I still prefer the original) but in live action it's just horrendous. The thing about good dubbing is that, well, you can't distinguish from on-location voice. It's kinda like good VFX, but more...
