Re: BBC's Top Gear

It's been rubbish for two or three years now. The "special" episodes were good but that was about it. I, for one, won't miss it. Steve Coogan's excellent column on The Guardian (four or five years ago now) was bang on the cash. FWIW, I can't stand Clarkson these days. He's a troll who makes vaguely ...

Re: Mike Brown protests in Ferguson, Missouri

I (obviously) don't know the American justice system but I'm surprised the police officer hasn't at least been indicted. There's certain elements of the whole thing that don't sit right with me (the prosecutor McCulloch/McCullough being involved in the case springs to mind) but then I've not seen al...

Re: Terrible Movie Accents

Jude Law (and I'm a fan of his) goes North East/Aberdeenshire/Scottish trawlerman for Black Sea. And he gets the cadence pretty spot on, shame he just can't do the actual sound.

Re: Overpopulation.

The Guardian had an article on overpopulation, it might (or might not) interest you Dodd: http://www.theguardian.com/world/2014/oct/28/global-population-science-growth-study-wars-disaster-disease As for (Sir) Ken Robinson, I'm sceptical of his views in general. Scotland has introduced the "curriculu...

Re: Interstellar: 70mm IMAX Screening Locations

Glasgow Science Centre IMAX confirmed on Facebook that they won't be showing 70mm (made the permanent switch to digital). That's a gutter.

Terrible Movie Accents

Actors can be brilliant at times - wonderful performances that leave a last impression on us for the rest of our lives. However they can also have terrible, terrible moments. Accents can be kind of important but sometimes they go horribly wrong. Ray Winstone in The Departed [What is this? I mean rea...

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015)

Probably old news but the BBC had an article about filming on Skellig Michael (Ireland) back in the summer. Intrigued as to how parts of the island will fit into the storyline.*

Was the rumour about filming in Skye ever confirmed?
