Re: Oppenheimer - Awards Speculation
1917 never really had the same strength as Oppenheimer had throughout its campaign. La La Land was probably the biggest favorite heading into Oscars night that actually lost in the end from the past 10 years that I can think of, but curiously wasn't even at the SAG for Ensemble which signaled weakne...

Re: Oppenheimer - Awards Speculation
Don't mind redfirebird2008. He is not a serious person. His whole stick is about downplaying every single thing Nolan does. His awards and box office predictions are not to be taken seriously. Ridiculous comment, no need for personal attacks. I'm a huge fan of Nolan. But I am not aggressive with pr...

Re: Oppenheimer - Awards Speculation
Sincerely doubt voters are gonna hold a bad speech against the movie, least of all one at one of the lesser seen televised awards.

Re: Box Office
Can't understand why a movie that still perform so well are losing so many locations this weekend. https://twitter.com/BORReport/status/1694820018037662054?s=20 Have to keep in mind that the film is probably doing really really well in some areas and less so in others. Those with bigger/more premiu...

Re: Box Office
Possible Variety was referring to 400m theatrically and then ancillary revenue streams (cable TV deals, home video, VOD sales, etc) covering the rest....? Movies don't stop making money after the box office run, and those ancillary streams tend to have huge margins that cover large portions if not a...

Re: Oppenheimer - Early Reactions
Feels like the French are divisive based off those. Hopefully broader reception is more aligned with English speaking critics.

Re: Box Office
Hard to imagine it will have Dunkirks legs Dunkirk was a breezy 90-100 minute pg 13 action packed war movie. This is a 3 hour R rated movie. Usually the latter will not have the legs of the former Couple things here, the long 3 hour runtime might play into the legs favor...because finding time for ...

Re: Box Office
I am basing it on Dunkirk, 50 mil opening - 180 mil domestic, and 340 international, if it does similar domestically then worldwide I do not see it doing too far off 340mil, I am thinking 270-280, this is due to Dunkirk doing huge in the UK 80 mil and shorter run time so more showings. No China rel...

Re: Interviews - Cast and Crew
https://youtu.be/ykioWgVoYcI https://youtu.be/vqtBLIIrg1Y Most interesting thing about this Fandango interview, around the 14:30 mark, did she suggest that the entire movie is in the IMAX ratio? I don't think we've heard this before, and at the same time she correctly identified Dunkirk being about...
