Re: Nolanhack's Next Flick

But I would also like him to finally grow a pair and make a comedy. I get it, it's hard, probably the most difficult and unforgiving genre to make. I believe Nolan's approach, in regards to his respect for comedy genre, is a more mindful way to see it instead of him thinking "Screw it. I'll just gr...

Re: Nolanhack's Next Flick

I think Nolan should put away the idea for a Howard Hughes film. Let somebody else do it because a lot has been said about his script and honestly, it might not live up to expectations (unfortunately many people do have them instead of focusing on the movie, and they can be more brutal due to this)....

Re: Zack Snyder's Justice League (2021)

The BvS extended edition had a more balanced narrative (Superman had more screentime) which imo helped the film. Speaking of a, recent, too bloated film: IT Chapter Two comes to mind. I mean, the first film was pretty great. A good idea to focus fully on the past aspect of the story. The second hal...

Re: Nolanhack's Next Flick

Whatever it can be, I really hope for a new departure/game-changer coming from him. Something completely different and new compared to what it has been able to do so far. He's always challenging himself, but it stills too Nolan-ish in my opinion and Tenet is further proof of that. It remains too sh...

Swank's Ellie lets herself to be trapped by Williams' Finch without informing anyone where she's going, despite knowing the threat, and then needs saving by Pacino's Dormer. (Type 3) ScarJo in The Prestige is functioning as femme fatale when she's not listening to exposition (Type 1) Murph unnecess...

People who found Tenet too confusing probably never watched Dark.
Ummm I've watched Dark and found that to be less confusing than Tenet to be honest. I love them both and understood the two but the latter felt a little bit more complicated.

Re: Tenet - Awards Season Discussion Thread

Why is it necessary to uplift Tenet by dragging down a bunch of other artists and movies, many of which I'll bet you haven't seen. It's not a competition. -Vader Nolanfans.com.. Genius. Being a fan has probably nothing to do with belittling other works in order to elevate your particular preference...

Re: Tenet Reviews/Reactions [Possible SPOILERS]

He was very aware: “Can you be sincere and self-conscious? I’m not sure you can. There are things in this project that are all very direct repeats of things I’ve done in the past—I’m shooting a shell case going back into a gun and I’ve literally done that before—and the sincerity to me is in not ta...

Re: Tenet Reviews/Reactions [Possible SPOILERS]

https://twitter.com/kateyrich/status/1352829047634612224 This is the kind of comment that convince me that in the end, the film will age well. Nolan may not be as much in control as in TDK, Inception or Dunkirk, but in the end, what will remain is how innovative the storytelling and the visuals are...

Re: Marvel Cinematic Universe Discussion Thread

An entire universe without stakes and consequences. Someone on twitter said this was akin to cheating and that cheating is boring and I agree. Also, just because the comics do this kind of stuff all the time, does not make it good storytelling. Without stakes, you basically expect the characters to...
