Re: Interviews - Cast and Crew

i think its because most people either consciously or inconsciously hold Nolan to a higher standard, well intentioned or not. This doesn't make sense.. All those directors I mentioned are held to a higher standard and don't get nearly the criticism Nolan gets. the higher standard i refer to can eas...

Re: Interviews - Cast and Crew

What did he used to say? Good to win over your critics. He's highly critical of Inception and Interstellar especially. I believe he feels that Inception and Interstellar spend entirely too long explaining themselves and the rules of their world. He liked Tenet, loved Oppenheimer, TDK, The Prestige ...

Re: Interviews - Cast and Crew

It's so funny to see Sean Fennessey who used talk shit about Nolan pretentiously now becomes an Oppenheimer enthusiast. What did he used to say? Good to win over your critics. He's highly critical of Inception and Interstellar especially. I believe he feels that Inception and Interstellar spend ent...

This was a good night, hopefully we can repeat it on March 10th.
Director should be a lock at this point.
Actor - btwn. Cilian and Giamatti
BSA - RDJ probably has this
Score - Looking good for Ludwig
Cinematography and all the other technical awards should win at least a couple.

Re: Hoyte van Hoytema's Cinematography

I'll Hoyte over this Fraser guy. As Nicolas said he's more on the digital side and I prefer my cinematographers on the non-digital side.

Re: Does 'Oppenheimer' finally tell us that Nolan isn't a Tory?

... wait so this is not a meme, people actually ever thought Nolan was conservative ? wow. By Hollywood standards, yes... Especially after TDK, TDKR, Dunkirk and TENET (the controversy of non-postponement). Where I live most leftwing people don't like him very much. The people further to the rightw...

Re: Oppenheimer - General Information

The film is about Oppenheimer. This is not a film to discuss or mention everyone involved in the project. Those people get their due in books, documentaries, articles, etc. People just nitpicking like they usually do.

Re: Oppenheimer - Awards Speculation

I don't trust anything in a world where Jonny Greenwood's score for Phantom Thread and Hans Zimmer's score for Dunkirk can both lose to Alexandre Desplat's score for The Shape of Water . Like Vader said, it's just people choosing what matches their taste at the time. Ugh don't remind of this. Avera...

Re: Oppenheimer - General Information

Saw this in 70mm in 3D A/C went out so the Trinity Test was... immersive, to say the least. The projection was great. Resolution was perfect, but I gotta say I actually enjoyed the LieMAX experience more overall. Nolan's Nolany sound design and the bigger screen were both integral to the experience...

Is it worth it if I can't get to a real IMAX screening?
