Re: TENET - General Information

Agreed. Honestly, there has been some down takes about the movie, Vader even called it ugly and brown. But to me (I literally work as a colorist) this is Nolan's most colorful movie and varied from scene to scene. The way the seafoam/ teals of the shadows in the landscape in Stask-12 pop is lovely,...

Re: TENET - General Information

Yup and it's a slower scene so they might have wanted to get longer takes. There are so many great sequences but this might be my favorite. The cinematography, the music, the acting and the mindfuckery of it all. Also, the third act Stalsk-12 to be exact is everything I wanted from Tenet and more. P...

Re: TENET - General Information

It does make sense but it’s such a visually striking sequence so it would’ve been cool if it was shot in IMAX.

Re: TENET - General Information

lolol the IMAX stuff looks incredible there were like two scenes were I thought, well why not use IMAX there too? Oh, yes! But it also made me realize how gorgeous 5/65 is too. There were so many shots I thought were IMAX - shooting the entire film on 65mm film was definitely a smart choice. Gotta ...

Re: Tenet - Awards Season Discussion Thread

Cinematography isn’t just about colors though. Plus, this has to do with production design than with the cinematography itself. And keep in mind that Hoyte was snubbed with probably his most colorful film ever: AD ASTRA. His work on that film is awards worthy. I truly hope voters see beyond the colo...

Re: Coronavirus v Cinema: Dawn of Streaming

Well they probably took that experience as a lesson. Hope the remaining theaters manage to renegotiate this once we start vaccinating next year. Definitely. And WW84 will be the next test. I'm surprised they didn't wait until after its release to announce this. I really don't think they'll stick to...
