Well, they have shot in London, Pittsburgh, and Los Angeles for the Caped Crusader's city. But I get what you're saying, many have hoped for a more distinct skyline... other than that of Chicago. And they are soon to shoot in NYC and Newwark, NJ. Nolan & Co. actually scouted Detroit before filming ...

IMAX aerial shots of downtown Detroit would broaden the scope of Gotham even more.

If there is one city that was born to play Gotham for a five second aerial shot, it is Detroit.
