Well, they have shot in London, Pittsburgh, and Los Angeles for the Caped Crusader's city. But I get what you're saying, many have hoped for a more distinct skyline... other than that of Chicago. IMAX aerial shots of downtown Detroit would broaden the scope of Gotham even more.
