Production 2011

Hi everyone, I've got some scary news. The festival where Erik is got hit by severe weather and a tent collapsed. It's big in the news in Holland and Belgium. Three people died and a lot of others got hurt. I don't know if he's one of them (I hope not). Here's an English link: http://www.gossipcop.c...

Re: Free Refill - Short Movie

Hey, I liked your video, at times. Some scenes were a bit long but other times it actually made me laugh. This reminded me of Borat so much and if it was edited a bit better it could actually turn out really well. I think the pacing is the biggest problem, yes. If I would have had more time I could...

Re: Letters on the Lake

I found your criticism of Free Refill very helpful. I thought I'd give my opinion on your film. * The music in the beginning sounds kind of like the music in Bassie & Adriaan, a kid's show from the Netherlands about a clown and his acrobat brother who have adventures and solve mysteries. * The shots...

Re: Free Refill - Short Movie

I'll use bullet point criticism so I can make remarks while watching your film... * The opening shot was pretty bad. The shot composition looked amateur, the noise is annoying, and it looked like the actor was trying to show us the soda, which is unnecessary since we are well aware that he has a be...

Free Refill - Short Movie

Hi everyone!

I'd like to hear your thoughts about my latest short film, Free Refill. I made it for the one-week digital filmmaking course at the New York Film Academy.

Re: Who here is actually in film school?

I'm studying Theatre, Television and Film Sciences. After that, I want to go to the Dutch Film Academy, but it's very hard to get accepted there, there are 300 applications a year for directing and they only allow six.

Re: Feature Film Writing

I wrote 'Het Kovski Complot' when I was 16. It was 123 pages long. It was about a journalist who gets framed for the murder of a scientist, who actually got kidnapped by a foreign power, and has to rescue the scientist to clear his name.

Re: Double/Life

Thanks Erik! I'm 19 years old. I live in Zoetermeer, which is indeed pretty close to Leiden. I would be interested in teaming up, I read your topic about writing, and I've never directed another person's work.

Double/Life

Hi everyone! This is the third and last film of mine I'll post for now. It's called Double/Life (Dubbel/Leven in Dutch) and it was made for another edition of the same contest I made ';' for. It's kind of flawed: it's very talky, and the plot isn't very clear. Also, the producer didn't manage to fin...
