David Dastmalchian Reunites with Christopher Nolan for Oppenheimer

David Dastmalchian

A few days ago a Tweet announcing that David Dastmalchian (The Dark Knight, Blade Runner 2049) had been cast in Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer appeared and disappeared in quick succession. Today THR confirmed the announcement. The actor got his first break in Nolan’s The Dark Knight as the deranged henchman Thomas Schiff. Dastmalchian’s career has taken off since — perhaps most notably appearing in a number of Denis Villeneuve films, including Prisoners, Blade Runner 2049, and Dune.

Dastmalchian joins a cast that now includes Cillian Murphy, Robert Downey Jr., Matt Damon, Emily Blunt, Florence Pugh, Rami Malek, Benny Safdie, Josh Hartnett, Dane DeHaan, Jack Quaid, Dylan Arnold, Olli Haaskivi, Alden Ehrenreich, David Krumholtz, and Matthew Modine — among others.

Oppenheimer hits theaters worldwide July 21, 2023. How do you think this cast is stacking up? Is it Nolan’s most impressive cast yet? Head over to our forums page to discuss your thoughts and to stay up to date with news as we learn it.
