Just when we thought Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer cast couldn’t get any more stacked, Deadline dropped a report stating that Josh Hartnett has joined the already impressive ensemble. Hartnett (Black Hawk Down, Pearl Harbor) was one of the actors Nolan was considering for playing Bruce Wayne before Christian Bale ultimately was cast in the role for Batman Begins. He joins Cillian Murphy, Robert Downey Jr., Matt Damon, Emily Blunt, Florence Pugh, Benny Safdie, and Rami Malek. No word yet on who he will be playing.
Oppenheimer is based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning book American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer by Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin. It will hit theaters worldwide July 21, 2023. What do you think about this casting news? Are you excited?!
